A SQL Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining databases, as well as optimizing SQL queries for improved performance. This role may also involve working with AWS services, particularly CloudWatch and RDS, and using reporting tools like Power BI. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze tasks effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability.

  • Optimize SQL queries to improve database performance.

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in data retrieval and manipulation.

  • Utilize AWS services, especially AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and AWS RDS for managing relational databases (if applicable).

  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance in the AWS environment (if applicable).

  • Create and maintain reports using reporting tools like Power BI.

  • Transform data into insightful visualizations for business analysis.

  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with other teams to address data-related challenges.

  • Analyze and understand project requirements and business objectives.

  • Break down tasks into manageable units and develop effective solutions.


Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL, database management, procedures, performance tuning and query optimization techniques.

  • Proficiency in using reporting tools, especially Power BI.

  • Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch and RDS is an additional advantage.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) is a plus.
